As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, we have a role for a Radiotherapist based in Pretoria who will be responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients with cancer and other medical conditions that require radiation therapy. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure that treatment is delivered safely and accurately. Your role will also involve providing emotional support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities:
Create treatment plans utilizing computer-aided or manual calculations to achieve the best possible beam geometry.
Analyze images obtained from one or more diagnostic tests to identify and outline normal and dose-limiting structures.
Participate in tumor localization by utilizing imaging devices like CT, MRI, and PET.
Oversee or directly engage in the production of customized shields and beam modifying equipment.
Collaborate with radiation therapists to ensure accurate execution of the treatment plan.
Implement radiation protection measures to reduce radiation exposure to staff, patients, and visitors.
Conduct precise calculations to ensure the exact administration of prescribed radiation dosages while validating the mathematical accuracy of all calculations.
Support Medical Physicists with radiation protection and safety measures, quality assurance of treatment plans, and calibration of equipment by offering technical expertise.
Job Requirements:
Registration with HPCSA as a Therapy Radiographer
A relevant higher diploma or degree in Therapeutic Radiography at NQF level 7
Experience in private health care and clinic radiation therapy
